This quilt is “June” by GE Quilt Designs. I pulled the fabric for the quilt along (QAL) in late June, but due to closing out work commitments, I didn’t start work on it until July. And finally put it together this week in August. I had considered using a red grunge fabric where the blue is, but decided that would be both too bright and too much gray. (Grunge usually has gray parts.) I used my big Stripology rule for the cutting and the squaring up. I went deep into the stash for these orange and yellow fabrics — some went back as far as 2007. Some were undated. . . .
It was fun to make and fairly quick. We tried holding it up, but it is 6 feet by 7 feet and Barry could either hold it up or hold it out, but not both. We are in the hot part of August right now and my sewing space is a long way away from the heat pumps, so a little warm for extended sewing. I will do a few moments here and there.
